10 years on the track, World Champion Superstars

“Athletics is the centrepiece of any Olympic and Paralympic Games. The athletics from London 2012 will live long in the memory of the British public, with the Commonwealth Games and athletics returning back to the Olympic stadium, hosting the London 2017 Athletics World Championships - these are exciting times for the sport, with the public appetite for world class athletics growing.”

Jason Gardener is one of the UK’s all time great sprinters. He achieved one of his ultimate ambitions at the 2004 Athens Olympics Games by winning gold in the 4x100m sprint relay. The British victory will go down in Olympic history as one of the greatest defeats of the mighty favourites, the USA. A winner of four back to back European Indoor 60m sprint titles, Commonwealth Champion and a member of the very select sub 10 second club for running the 100m. Jason was GB team captain and received an MBE and freedom of the City of Bath in 2005.

At the Top of the Game, England Rugby Captain, World Cup Winning Team

If you like the game of Rugby as we do at G Privé come join me for some sporting dinners with legends of the game … Mike.

“As a young lad growing up in Otley, and at Queen Elizabeth School, my love and passion was rugby. Straight from school I joined the Bath Rugby squad, probably the best club in the land then. Playing and training alongside a team of legends helped me progress towards my goal of a centre spot in the Red Rose Team.

After the World Cup in 1999 I made my debut in the England side alongside my Bath team mate Mike Catt OBE. From then on I was a regular in the side, culminating with a dream come true - winning the World Cup with England in 2003 in Australia. Rugby has given me the chance to travel the world, meet so many people, and recount so many tales. You can be part of that at my Legends Rugby dinners with G Privé in the coming months and years!”

25 years at the top of the game, World Cup Memories

If you like to shoot as we do at G Privé come join me for a master class on the private estates of Britain … George.

“If your make up is at all competitive then playing sport should rank at the top of the ‘to do’ tree. I love all sport and still play golf and cricket, although shooting is obviously my first love. There is something about being competitive in an international event, and all that pressure the afternoon brings. Winning a world championship is everyone’s ultimate goal in sport, and I have been fortunate to win 23 of them, alongside 18 European championships, so I feel that when I stop playing the sports that I love, I will have some nice memories to take with me.”

Phillip Fussell
